Star Wars fans worldwide, it’s time to get excited. Lucasfilm has revealed the dates for Star Wars Celebration 2020. It was previously revealed at the end of this year’s event, that the convention honoring all things related to a galaxy far, far away, would be returning to Anaheim, California for its next installment. Now, we know when all of the action will be going down and, perhaps more importantly for fans, when they can get their hands on tickets. And with everything coming down the pipeline, this may well be a must-attend event for Star Wars die-hards.

According to a new report, Star Wars Celebration 2020 will take place from Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, August 30, 2020. For those interested in attending, tickets go on sale Friday, June 21 at 9 a.m. PT. Typically, there are various types of passes for the event available. Interested parties can either purchase tickets for a single day, or they can buy various levels of badges for the whole event. This isn’t quite as intense as San Diego Comic-Con when it comes to getting tickets. That said, they do tend to sell out, so anyone who does want to go next year shouldn’t sleep on scooping them up. Purchasing sooner rather than later is recommended.

Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2020 will consist of four fun-filled days. This year’s event in Chicago spanned five days and, apparently, the brass at Disney and Lucasfilm decided to scale that back a bit. For now, no specific guests or panels have been announced. They do, however, promise major announcements, immersive exhibits, an interactive show floor, screenings, exclusive merchandise, celebrity guests, panels, autograph sessions, fan-inspired activities, costumes, and other surprises. What those surprises will consist of is anyone’s guess at this point, but we’ve got some rough guesses.

With Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hitting theaters in December, the Skywalker saga is coming to an end. But we do have the new trilogy of movies from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss in the works. We also recently learned that a Knights of the Old Republic movie is being developed. Is that connected to the Benioff and Weiss trilogy? Hopefully, we’ll find out during the event, if not before. There’s also the Rian Johnson trilogy, which we’ve heard next to nothing about. Not to mention possible additions to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which recently opened at Disneyland. It’s surely not a coincidence that the event is moving to Anaheim again next year.

There’s also the matter of possible new shows for Disney+. The Mandalorian launches in November. Maybe we’ll hear about a possible season 2? There’s also the matter of the Rogue One prequel series centered on Cassian Andor. Not to mention the rumored Obi-Wan Kenobi series, possibly starring Ewan McGregor, which may come as a result of the movie being scrapped. So to say, there is a whole lot going on in the Star Wars universe to be showcased at Celebration next year. This news was first reported by StarWars.com.
